Garfield and Asotin County Individuals with developmental disabilities may be eligible to receive support at home and at work through Washington State Developmental Disabilities Administration! Supported employment, respite, independent housing and other programs are available to individuals in Garfield and Asotin County who meet eligibility criteria.

Eligibility Requirements

Residency: Must be a resident of Washington State.

Origin: Disability must have started before age 18.

Duration: Expected to continue indefinitely (lifelong). Substantial

Limitation: Causes significant limitations in personal and social functioning

Qualifying Conditions

  • Intellectual Disability (ID)
  • Cerebral Palsy (CP)
  • Epilepsy
  • Autism
  • Other neurological conditions similar to ID or requiring similar support.

I’ll lose my benefits if I work!

You won’t lose your SSI/SSDI checks if you work. Social Security wants you to work! Work Incentives (like income exclusions and disregards) allow you to keep some benefits while earning more, increasing your total income.

Once DDA eligibility is confirmed, trusted employment agencies in Asotin, Garfield, and Whitman counties help match individuals with community jobs that fit their abilities. Work hours vary, and agencies provide on-the-job support for as long as needed.
